Deacon Tom Daw — Retired
“Deacon Tom” Phone: 440-655-0647 Email:
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and have spent most of my life here. I graduated from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Following that I received an Associate Degree in Data Processing from Cuyahoga Community College and and undergraduate Degree in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace. Margee and I married December 30, 1971. We have three children: Tara, Justin and Emily. Together they have made us proud grandparents of eight children.
I retired after thirty years in the telecommunications industry working for Ohio Bell, Ameritech, SBC and AT&T. I then began working for the Cleveland Diocese TRIBUNAL in September, 2001. There I worked four days a week as the Business Manager and Canonical Auditor.
I was raised Catholic and have always had a special affection for the Catholic faith and its religious practices. I was ordained a Deacon May 13, 2000 after four years of study at St. Mary’s Seminary. I spent my first ten and a half years of diaconate at St. Mary of the Falls.
I have been assigned at Sacred Parish since December 1, 2010.
With the permission of Bp. Nelson J. Perez, Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, I have been granted permission to retire on 1 June 2020 – but, because of the coronavirus pandemic, chose to delay his retirement until 30 August 2020.
