Marriage

Anyone who desires to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony should consult with Fr. Trask before making any plans (eg. scheduling date, venue, etc).

The Church requires a six month period of preparation.  During that period the engaged couple will meet with the intended celebrant several times to complete the necessary preparation.

If you are currently married outside of the church and desire to have your union recognized or blessed by the Church, please consult with Fr. Trask.

If either party has been married before whether they are a Catholic or not; whether the service took place in a church or not, that party should consult with Fr. Trask immediately.  The purpose of that meeting would be to determine whether an annulment of the prior marriage must be submitted.  For more information regarding annulment or what is now called a “Declaration of Invalidity” go to www.dioceseofcleveland.org/tribunal.
